Job summary

AECOM is looking for a motivated Data Analyst to join our Information Management team in the UK. You will develop automated data processes, build Power BI dashboards, and translate project data needs into clear visual solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• Training within Design and Information Management will be provided; candidates from other industries are encouraged to apply.
• Power BI: basic to intermediate proficiency, data modelling and DAX a plus.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to understand and resolve project-level issues.
• Technical aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies in data analysis, automation and programming.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to explain complex data insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Creativity with a mindset to develop innovative data solutions.
• Familiarity with SQL and experience with data visualization tools.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies e.g. Agile, Waterfall.

• Automation Development: Working with the information management team to develop automated data processes and workflows that streamline data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from various project sources.
• Power BI Development:
• Creating dashboards and reports in Power BI to visualise project performance data, trends, and key metrics.
• Working alongside senior analysts to understand project level data requirements and translate them into effective visual solutions.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of our Power BI data models.
• Data Exploration & Analysis: Identifying trends, anomalies, and potential areas for improvement within project data.
• Software Development Support: Collaborate with senior team members to support the development of custom project tools. This will include learning basic SQL, exploring data manipulation techniques, contributing to small scale software development tasks.
• Creative Problem Solving: Bring a fresh perspective to data challenges to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and propose innovative solutions.
• Documentation: Maintain documentation for processes, reports, data models and custom software packages.
• Data Quality: Contribute to maintaining the quality and accuracy of project data.
