AECOM is seeking a data analyst in the United Kingdom to develop automated data processes and Power BI dashboards that translate complex project data into clear insights.

You will work with senior analysts to understand data requirements, contribute to data models, and help maintain data quality and documentation. This role offers hybrid work options and opportunities for training within Design and Information Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Statistics) or equivalent practical experience.
• Industry training within Design and Information Management will be provided; individuals with experience in other industries are encouraged to apply.

Responsabilités

• Develop automated data processes and ETL workflows to streamline data extraction and transformation.
• Create dashboards and reports in Power BI to visualize project performance, trends, and key metrics.
• Collaborate with senior analysts to translate project data requirements into effective visuals.
• Contribute to the development of Power BI data models.
• Perform data exploration to identify trends and anomalies and suggest improvements.
• Support the development of custom project tools and learn basic SQL and data manipulation.

• Automation Development: Working with the information management team to develop automated data processes and workflows that streamline data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from various project sources.
• Power BI Development:
• Creating dashboards and reports in Power BI to visualise project performance data, trends, and key metrics.
• Working alongside senior analysts to understand project level data requirements and translate them into effective visual solutions.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of our Power BI data models.
• Data Exploration & Analysis: Identifying trends, anomalies, and potential areas for improvement within project data.
• Software Development Support: Collaborate with senior team members to support the development of custom project tools. This will include learning basic SQL, exploring data manipulation techniques, contributing to small scale software development tasks.
• Creative Problem Solving: Bring a fresh perspective to data challenges to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and propose innovative solutions.
• Documentation: Maintain documentation for processes, reports, data models and custom software packages.
• Data Quality: Contribute to maintaining the quality and accuracy of project data.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Statistics) or equivalent practical experience.

• Skills:
• Power BI: Basic to intermediate proficiency in Power BI (experience with data modelling and DAX is a plus).
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem solving skills to understand and solve project level issues.
• Technical Aptitude: A willingness to learn new technologies and software, particularly in the areas of data analysis, automation and basic programming concepts.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to clearly explain complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences is essential.
• Creativity: A creative mindset with a desire to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions.
• Additional Skills:
• Familiarity with SQL.
• Experience with data visualization tools.
• Knowledge of Project Management methodologies e.g. Agile, Waterfall.
