We’re excited to offer an incredible opportunity for an Assistant Project Controller to become a key player in our renowned Infrastructure team at Walker Sime. Led by industry experts, our team delivers a wide range of high-impact projects across sectors, including renewables, energy and waste, water and utilities, nuclear, defence, and highways.

Right now, we’re looking for an Assistant Project Controller to work on complex, high-value infrastructure projects within the wastewater sector. This is your chance to develop your skills in project controls, making a genuine impact while working alongside Sheryl Durham, our exceptional Director of Project Controls.

About the Role - As an Assistant Project Controller, you will be a critical part of our Project Controls team, supporting the successful delivery of major wastewater infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include:

Developing, implementing, and maintaining effective project control processes.

Contributing to project planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and change management.

Ensuring that all project control data is accurate, up-to-date, and communicated effectively.

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (engineers, planners, commercial professionals) to ensure project objectives are met.

Identifying potential risks and opportunities, providing insights for informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities -

Support the Programme Controls Manager with accurate project status assessments.

Develop and maintain project schedules, cost plans, and lifecycle schedules.

Monitor and report project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Assist with early warning, risk, and issue management.

Manage interface schedules and dependencies.

Support the change management process, ensuring compliance with business procedures.

About You Qualifications & Experience -

Proven experience in Project Controls.

Experience in the Utilities/Water sector is an advantage.

Key Skills -

Strong understanding of project control techniques.

Proficiency in Project Control software (Primavera P6, SAP).

Excellent numerical and data analysis skills.

Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to tackle complex situations.

Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to challenge constructively.

Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
