We’re excited to offer an opportunity for an Assistant Project Controller to become a key member of our Infrastructure team at Walker Sime. Our team delivers high-impact projects across sectors such as renewables, energy, waste, water, utilities, nuclear, defence, and highways.

Currently, we’re looking for an Assistant Project Controller to support complex, high-value wastewater infrastructure projects. This role offers a chance to develop skills in project controls and work alongside our Director of Project Controls, Sheryl Durham.

Responsibilities

About the Role: As an Assistant Project Controller, you will support the successful delivery of major wastewater infrastructure projects by:

• Developing and maintaining effective project control processes.
• Contributing to project planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and change management.
• Ensuring project control data accuracy and effective communication.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet project objectives.
• Identifying risks and opportunities to inform decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the Programme Controls Manager with project status assessments.
• Maintaining project schedules, cost plans, and lifecycle schedules.
• Monitoring and reporting on project KPIs.
• Assisting with risk and issue management.
• Managing interface schedules and dependencies.
• Supporting change management processes in line with business procedures.

About You: Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in Project Controls.
• Formal PM/Project Controls qualification.
• Experience in the Utilities/Water sector is advantageous.

Key Skills

• Strong understanding of project control techniques.
• Proficiency in software such as Primavera P6 and SAP.
• Excellent data analysis skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle complex situations.
• Effective communication skills, with confidence to challenge constructively.
