Job title: Assistant Project Accountant

Location: Warton / Samlesbury – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: £41,361+ (Depending on skills and experience)

What you’ll be doing:

• Completing the Sales and Margin Trading on a monthly basis ahead of month end for your assigned area in line with the latest reviewed position. in accordance with IFRS 15 principles
• Supporting the completion of the project finance reporting templates using a standardised approach to driving increased efficiency and high quality output
• Building relationships with Cost Account Managers across multiple projects to understand and challenge business performance, supporting the presentation of high quality financial outputs aligned with strategic objectives
• Supporting the AIR Project Finance Leads and Business Performance teams to complete their accounts and month end process through the IFRS 15 Loaders, Late Adjustment and Integrity Checks
• Supporting the Half Year and Full Year Statutory Reporting process and provide support to external audit during these periods
• Preparation of financial updates for the monthly reporting packs that will be distributed to the Project Finance Lead and Project Management Contact ahead of the review

Your skills and experiences:

• CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualification – Part Qualified
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communicator with the ability to challenge and influence ideas
• Background experience in Manufacturing or Management Accounting
• Ability to work alongside diverse teams of professionals across different projects and contracts

The Project Finance Capability Centre Team:

You will be joining an established Project Finance Capability Centre team of c.150 staff that provides Project Finance support to Contracts across the Air portfolio. Finance at BAE Systems is not just about providing financial information to stakeholders, it is about being integrated in the multi-functional Project Team, ensuring we work together to maximise the value we create within our business.

As an Assistant Project Accountant within the Project Finance Capability Centre you will assist in the delivery of Project Accounting support across the Air portfolio which covers a variety of interesting projects which vary in size and complexity. As part of the Project Finance Capability Centre you will be required to collaborate across the full team, and cross functionally.
