Nichols College: Assistant Professor of Economics and Finance
Job Requirements
Nichols College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Economics and Finance, with a start date of August 2025. The rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Faculty responsibilities include preparing and providing instruction in line with course materials, integrating experiential learning and current economic data into course materials. Course materials include syllabi, homework assignments, handouts, and other teaching materials. Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
Select and obtain course materials and supplies, such as textbooks, and collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues in the marketing field. Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions, and maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records. Evaluate and grade students’ classwork, assignments and papers, and compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others.
Stay informed about developments in the field by reading current marketing literature, discussing relevant topics with colleagues, and participating in professional organizations and conferences. Conduct research in marketing and publish findings in professional journals, books, or electronic media. Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students.
Advise students on academic and vocational curricula and career issues. Supervise undergraduate and graduate teaching, independent study, internship, and research work. Collaborate with members of the business faculty, and particularly faculty of the marketing program, to improve programs, develop new programs, and provide student access to learning opportunities, such as internships. Participate in College governance, including serving on academic or administrative committees that deal with departmental matters or academic issues, and participate in campus and community events.
Qualifications
Earned doctorate (Ph.D.), or, at minimum, ABD (or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, or closely related discipline required.
