Position Summary |
The primary location for this position is on the main Cullowhee campus.
The School of Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, and Business Law one of three
schools in the College of Business, invites applicants for a 9-month tenure track Assistant Professor position in Computer Information Systems (CIS) beginning in August 2025. The successful candidate will bring areas of teaching and research that complement and integrate with those of existing faculty. Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to, residential and/or distance undergraduate classes in the core enterprise information systems course and the Cybersecurity program.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to contribute to the College's mission ofproviding students with the skills needed to address the challenges of contemporary business.Responsibilities include teaching three courses per semester with both face-to-face and onlineformats per semester, scholarship, advising, and service activities as designed by the schooldirector. Moreover, although faculty are typically assigned to teach 2 or 3 days per week,teaching and service duties may require a campus presence on non-teaching days. The abilityto maintain an active research resulting in publication in peer reviewed journals is required.Candidates should have a strong record or show strong promise to contribute to theintellectual and practical lives of students and other stakeholders of the School, College, University, and business community. The successful candidates must meet the standards for qualification per the College's Policy on Classification of Qualified Faculty. The AACSB requirements for academic qualification mandate a minimum level of relevant research andpublication in order to remain current in the field of teaching.

Minimum Qualifications |
A terminal degree in Computer Information Systems or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution is required. ABD candidates considered if the degree is completed by July 1, 2025. Please note that a degree in Computer Science will not satisfy the degree requirement for this position.
