The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Computational Social Science in the Department of Methodology. Based in the Department, the post holder will conduct and publish outstanding research, and deliver high‑quality teaching in computational social data science.

Applicants should have completed a PhD (or near completion) and demonstrated ability to teach and develop courses, including the use of generative AI to address

Qualifications

  • PhD completed or near completion with expertise in computational methods applied to social science.
  • Track record of internationally excellent publications.
  • Ability to teach computational data science courses.
  • Experience with programming, data wrangling and analysis.
  • Interest in generative AI applications to research questions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and publish outstanding research.
  • Teach at high quality as instructed by the Head of Department.
  • Engage in the School and Department activities.
  • Develop and contribute to new courses in generative AI and data science.
