Job summary

MTS Recruitment Ltd in Oxford is seeking an Assistant Production Planner to join the Pyro Production Department. You will support production planning and material management, helping to maintain the flow of materials into production and ensure accurate production records.

The role offers a competitive salary with overtime opportunities. Mon-Thurs 8 am-5 pm and Fridays 8 am-12 noon, with a comprehensive benefits package including pension, health plan and generous leave.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or production support environment.
• Previous production planning experience.
• Understanding of material handling and inventory control.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems, ideally SAP or similar.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, issue and maintain production drawings and associated documentation.
• Manage re-picks and resolve material shortages, including physically picking hardware and pyrotechnic items where required.
• Support the flow of materials into production to help maintain production schedules.
• Identify and correct transactional errors using SAP COGI and other system tools.
• Review and resolve production order clocking errors, maintaining accurate records.
• Provide administrative and operational support to Production Planners.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across production planning and material management.
• Work flexibly to support the wider production control function.
