Job description

Are you passionate about advancing your procurement career within the fast-evolving MEP construction sector?

We are looking for an assistant procurement manager to join our MEP procurement team supporting the delivery of best value and sustainable procurement across our central cluster MEP projects. You'll collaborate closely with project and cluster leads to manage procurement schedules, tender processes, and supplier performance—ensuring robust and compliant supply chains for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Implement procurement strategies tailored to MEP projects and supply chains.

  • Support sourcing, tendering, negotiation, contract award, and supplier performance management.

  • Coordinate commercial and technical reviews involving HSE, quality, legal, and logistics specialists.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance, ethical procurement, and sustainability standards.

  • Maintain product and market knowledge to identify innovative MEP materials and solutions.

  • Report on procurement progress and risks, escalating issues as needed.

  • Mentor and support junior team members under supervision.

Skills & Experience:

  • Foundational knowledge of negotiation, contract law, supply base and risk management in construction procurement.

  • Familiarity with MEP sector procurement, including DfMA and digital engineering.

  • Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.

  • Commitment to professional development (e.g., MCIPS, CIOB, RICS).

Qualifications:

  • Working towards or holding relevant procurement or construction industry qualifications (e.g., MCIPS, Diploma Level 4, HNC, Degree).
