Job Description:

A local council I am working with is hiring an Assistant Procurement Manager to join their team.

Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Do you want to make a difference to real people and real lives? Do you want to be a part of helping to shape the future of our Procurement service for local government?

You will lead a large number and variety of sourcing projects, working with stakeholders across these Councils and pushing forward collaborative procurement within the partner Authorities.

This role will involve working with key stakeholders across the organisation to understand the requirements for goods within each spend area.

This role will negotiate commercial and contractual terms for contracts up to £25 million.

  • Lead the development, maintenance and implementation of all strategies.
  • Work closely with Senior Managers regarding commercial and financial viability, offering different options for each project.
  • Manage suppliers, ensuring they are achieving the performance standards set out in the contract.
  • Drive continuous improvements within the organisation.
  • Lead projects and tenders.

Your Experience:

  • Experience within a similar role.
  • Experience managing contracts.
  • Understanding of Procurement law.
