Job Opportunity: Assistant Procurement Analyst

Location: London Group Head Office

Reports to: Procurement Operations Lead

Are you a data-savvy, detail-oriented individual looking to kickstart your career in procurement and analytics? Join our dynamic Procurement team at Go-Ahead Group and play a pivotal role in shaping data-driven decisions across our operations.

About the Role

As an Assistant Procurement Analyst, you’ll support the Procurement Analyst and wider team in collecting, validating, and analysing data that drives strategic procurement decisions. From tracking rebates and liquidated damages (LDs) to maintaining contract and spend databases, your work will underpin performance reviews, supplier evaluations, and automation initiatives.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for continuous improvement in procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and tracking Strategic, Operational, and Performance KPIs aligned with the Go-Ahead Way.
  • Format and deliver procurement performance reports for Group and OPCO stakeholders.
  • Maintain auditable records for rebates and LDs, supporting calculations and evidence gathering.
  • Analyse Oracle spend data to identify savings opportunities.
  • Support tender and contract evaluations with foundational analysis.
  • Update and maintain procurement systems including the Contract Database and Spend Cube.
  • Contribute to supplier rationalisation by identifying inactive or duplicate records.
  • Aid automation of reporting and KPI production through structured data preparation.
  • Provide ad hoc analytical support to the Procurement team and wider business functions.
  • Collaborate with Finance to reconcile rebate payments and savings tracking.

Key Objectives

  • Ensure accurate rebate and LD management.
  • Deliver timely and insightful procurement and KPI reports.
  • Support commercial evaluations with robust preparatory analysis.
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement in reporting processes.
  • Help develop procurement KPIs aligned with the Go-Ahead Way.
  • Process PO orders and support Business Services operations.

Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or working towards qualifications in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail
