Mission description

As part of our Materials and Processing team, the Assistant / Principal Materials Engineer will collaborate with industry leaders in aerospace engineering. This role involves supporting the monitoring of the supply chain for landing gear parts and participating in forensic investigations of landing gear components. What will I be doing?

Providing Materials & Process expertise, supporting activities at a site level, and working closely with other Materials & Processes Laboratories within Safran Landing Systems worldwide.

The role mainly involves monitoring the supply chain for landing gear parts and may include hands-on forensic investigations.

What do I need to succeed in the role?

• A degree in metallurgy or materials engineering/science.
• Experience in a materials laboratory environment, preferably in aerospace.
• Extensive knowledge of metallurgy, especially steels, titanium, and aluminum alloys.
• Experience in supply chain monitoring related to forging and melting practices.
• Data processing skills and ability to interpret technical specifications.
• Hands-on experience with metallographic preparation, microscopy, and materials testing.
• Ability to produce and review detailed technical reports.
• Effective communication skills for technical information sharing.
• Leadership qualities and a broad understanding of fabrication processes.
