Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Practitioner to work within the Rehabilitation Team.

The candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to treat patients effectively with excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within the wider multidisciplinary team.

They will provide planned care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, symptom control, palliative care, and rehabilitation and be able to take appropriate action to achieve the planned aims.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain regular and close communication with physiotherapists and team leader.
  • Work alongside the MDT to deliver programmes of care and therapy for treatment, as per plan of care determined by physiotherapists.
  • Develop a rapport with patients and encourage interest and participation in their treatment programme.
  • Support and undertake the assessment and management of non-complex patients' rehabilitation needs under the direct/indirect supervision of the physiotherapist.
  • Support and assist the physiotherapists within the medical and surgical teams in the treatment of complex patients.
Person Specification
  • Foundation degree in a health-related subject or equivalent.
  • Worked in an Allied Health Profession or NHS setting.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to use initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills.

The post is a rotation position where the assistant practitioner will also support and assist the physiotherapists within the medical and surgical teams in the treatment of complex patients.
