Stagenhoe is a Brainkind specialist neurological care centre based in Hertfordshire, caring for adults aged 18 and over with neurological conditions. We provide care to optimise health and wellbeing, maximise independence, and support emotional and social needs.

Our centres and hospitals use neurorehabilitation to improve the lives of people with neurological conditions or brain injuries.

Main duties of the job

MAIN PURPOSE:

To provide high-quality care and support to service users and their families. To assist in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of personalised nursing care or therapy under the supervision of a registered professional.

Job responsibilities

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support assessment, planning, and delivery of individualised healthcare in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain high standards of care, following clinical guidelines and organisational policies. Support junior staff and challenge practice as appropriate.
  • Ensure continuity of care through effective communication with team members and timely reporting of changes in patient condition.
  • Promote patient choice, participate in service user feedback, and support involvement in care decisions.
  • Encourage a culture where unsafe or inappropriate behaviour can be challenged through proper channels.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, confidentiality, and undertake additional reasonable tasks as needed.

Qualifications
  • Level 5 Foundation Degree in Assistant Practitioner (Healthcare)
  • Experience in healthcare, preferably in specialist services such as neuro or palliative care
  • Experience in clinical settings
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Effective communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
  • Ability to respond to distressed individuals
