Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Endoscopy Support role to help deliver safe, high-quality care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. You will work with nurses, doctors and the multidisciplinary team across admission, preparation, procedure and recovery.

The role involves assisting with preparation, providing patient reassurance, supporting recovery after sedation, monitoring patients, and maintaining clear records in a busy Endoscopy Unit.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in a healthcare setting.
  • Able to communicate confidently with patients, relatives and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care within the Endoscopy Unit.
  • Assist with the preparation of patients for endoscopic procedures.
  • Support patients during procedures and provide reassurance and dignity at all times.
  • Assist with patient recovery following sedation and procedures.
  • Monitor and report changes in the patient's condition appropriately.
  • Prepare clinical areas and equipment for procedures.
  • Assist with the safe handling, cleaning and decontamination of endoscopy equipment in accordance with local policy.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and records.
  • Work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and organisational standards.
  • Support the development of junior staff and contribute to a positive learning environment.
  • Participate in audits, quality improvement and service development where appropriate.

Job description

Working as part of the multidisciplinary Endoscopy Team, you will support the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. You will work alongside registered nurses, doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team throughout the patient's endoscopy journey, including admission, preparation, procedure and recovery. Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust comprises Aintree University Hospital, Broadgreen Hospital & Royal Liverpool University Hospital. We are part of NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group, formed on 1 Nov 2024 from the coming together of LUHFT and Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust.   • Previous experience within Endoscopy procedure rooms. You must be confident to work within all procedure rooms.
