Job description

We are seeking an experienced and reliable individual to provide comprehensive administrative support to the IMS-MRL PhD and MPhil courses and teaching team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the post graduate courses within the world class Institute of Metabolic Science. If you have experience in student administration, excel at multitasking, and possess exceptional communication skills, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake course administration activities. Liaise with teaching staff on all aspects of course organisation, prepare, edit and distribute course material, course requirements and documentation submissions. Arrange meetings for students with supervisors, obtain information (including reading lists and biographies) from lecturers and other contributors. Contribute to changes in processes and procedures.
  • Carry out administration of applications and admissions procedure for the courses. Receive applications, organise interviews, provide information on successful applicants, ensure successful applicants have what they require e.g. university cards, computer IDs etc.
  • Deal with enquiries from current and prospective students regarding the course such as application process, funding and course requirements. Provide advice on application processes and course requirements. Arrange student visitor agreements and access passes.
  • Co-ordinate assessment processes. Ensure coursework is submitted on time, keep records of submissions, ensure examiners are appointed, distribute written work for marking, ensure examiners' reports are received on time, send copies of reports to students.
  • Be a positive, proactive influence within the Professional Services Team! Requirements:
  • Proven experience in post graduate administration within a higher education environment with knowledge of facts, principles, processes and general concepts related to Course Administration.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills with an ability for prioritising tasks and consistently hitting deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other essential software tools.
  • Discretion and the ability to handle confidential information with sound judgment, being sensitive to student needs.
  • Based within Addenbrookes Hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus ¿ an ideal setting to thrive and grow.
