Job description

Location: Thames Valley based region, such as, Oxford, Reading, High Wycombe, Slough, and parts of Aylesbury

Contract: Fixed Term Contract – 31 st March 2026

Hours: 15 hours per week

Are you looking for working experience while studying to become a qualified Plumber. Groundwork South currently has an exciting opportunity within our Water Efficiency Team to work alongside a team of qualified Plumbers as an Assistant Plumber.

What you need:

  • Basic plumbing knowledge
  • Relevant construction qualifications or a City and Guilds 6089 (basic plumbing studies).
  • Working toward a Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing or Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing and Heating (6189-11) or Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating (6189-31) or equivalent.

Summary of role: Groundwork South employs a team of Water Efficiency Plumbers to work on a project linked to Thames Water conducting Water Efficiency visits on Businesses, including schools. The Water Efficiency Plumbers carry out wastage repairs to internal water systems such as taps, toilets, valves and overflows in commercial businesses and School premises. The assistant plumber will help to ensure the effective delivery of the visits with a lead plumber or within a group. The assistant plumber will play an active role supporting with day-to-day delivery.

During the initial fixed term contract, you will be provided with transport to client’s sites, accompanied by a qualified plumber. Once fully qualified, any addition offer of work will be subject to you having a full UK driving licence.
