Job description

Job Title: Assistant Plant Supervisor
Location: Glastonbury
Salary: £33,000 per annum
Hours: 48 hours per week (Mon–Sat rota) Permanent

Pertemps are excited to be working with our client to recruit an Assistant Plant Supervisor for their busy concrete production site in Glastonbury. This is a fantastic permanent opportunity for a proactive, hands-on individual to support the Plant Manager while having the autonomy to run the site independently when required.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring production runs smoothly, the site is safe and efficient, and customers’ needs are met on time.

The Role
  • Batch concrete and oversee production to meet daily targets.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant site at all times.
  • Liaise with distribution teams and hauliers to ensure customer orders are fulfilled.
  • Identify and report any equipment faults, assisting with plant operations as required.
  • Support the Plant Manager and step up to manage the site when needed.
The Right Candidate
  • Hardworking, reliable and professional with good communication skills.
  • NVQ Wheeled Loading Shovel licence desirable (training available).
  • Experience of working in a Health & Safety-focused environment.
  • Mechanical/electrical understanding of plant machinery is an advantage.
  • Flexible, proactive, and hands-on approach with problem-solving ability.
