Join us as an Assistant Planning Manager at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council

We are seeking an enthusiastic professional to join our busy Planning Development Team. In this senior role, you will be pivotal in delivering effective planning services across all development aspects. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, passionate about planning, and capable of working under tight deadlines.

Reporting to the Planning and Development Manager, your responsibilities will include managing and supervising small teams, supporting team members' performance and development, and handling complex applications and appeals, including attendance at committee meetings.

Key requirements include excellent organizational skills, the ability to take responsibility for your work, and contributing to team performance. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills are essential, along with expert knowledge of relevant legislation, planning policies, and guidance.

This role is based at the Civic Offices in Basingstoke, near the Top of Town, and offers an opportunity to work in a vibrant town surrounded by picturesque villages and Hampshire countryside, rich in architectural heritage and cultural activities.
