NSS helps deliver efficient and effective services, offering shared services on a national scale with best-in-class systems and standards. Our priority is to improve the health and well-being of the Scottish population by working with colleagues across Health and Social Care to deliver high-quality, fit-for-purpose solutions that free up resources for essential services.

The Post:

This role offers a challenging opportunity to leverage the NHS Scotland's annual procurement spend of over £1.5 billion. National Procurement, the Procurement Centre of Expertise for Health, collaborates with health boards to ensure high-quality patient care through a range of national contracts and distribution services.

The Canderside and Eurocentral facilities operate on three shift patterns, including day/back shift rotation and a permanent night shift. The successful candidate will work days (08:00 - 16:00) but must be flexible for extended hours as required.

The Eurocentral warehouse spans 122,000 sq ft. The role involves managing goods in, picking, and dispatching, requiring experience in FMCG warehouse or logistics roles, particularly inbound stock and planning, preferably within FMCG.

The Candidate:

This is a Modern Apprenticeship for 16-24-year-olds. The role involves controlling and planning inbound stock, managing inter-site stock movements, ensuring stock availability, and meeting delivery times. The candidate will also ensure compliance with logistics health, safety, and security procedures, following risk assessments and safe systems of work.

Essential qualities include the ability to develop new skills, follow instructions, work well in a team and independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Location and Working Pattern:

Coddington – Eurocentral

Dayshift: Monday – Thursday, 08:00 – 16:00; Friday, 08:00 – 15:30

37 hours per week.

Applicants must reside within the UK.

  • Year 1: 70% of Band 4 top scale, supplemented to meet Scottish Living Wage (£24,309.07 annually if lower).
  • Year 2: 75% of Band 4 top scale, with top-up if below Scottish Living Wage.

Upon completing the apprenticeship, salary advances to point 1 of the Band 4 scale.

Benefits:

Includes pension, work-life balance policies, occupational health, learning resources, and discounts on leisure, financial, and shopping benefits.

Inclusion:

NSS promotes diversity and inclusion, flexible working, and offers support for mental health and development. NSS is committed to equal opportunities and guarantees interviews for disabled applicants meeting minimum criteria. Please contact the Recruitment Team for reasonable adjustments.
