Job description

Join us to apply for the Assistant Planner (Modern Apprentice) role at NHS Scotland

This is a Modern Apprenticeship role for individuals aged 16-24, or 16-29 for disabled or care-experienced applicants. It is also open to existing NSS staff who meet the role requirements. Your responsibilities will include controlling and planning inbound stock, managing inter-site stock movements, ensuring stock availability, and meeting delivery timescales. You will also adhere to health, safety, and security procedures, and develop safe systems of work.

The role is based at Coddington – Eurocentral, working dayshift hours (08:00 - 16:00, Monday to Thursday, and 08:00 - 15:30 on Fridays), totaling 37 hours per week. Flexibility to work extended hours may be required.

Qualifications include experience in FMCG warehouse or logistics roles, with inbound and stock allocation planning skills. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to learn new skills, follow instructions, work well in a team and independently in a fast-paced environment.

Salary and Benefits

The salary, in line with Annex 21 provisions, starts at 70% of the top of Band 4 in Year 1, with adjustments to meet the Scottish Living Wage (£24,309.07 per annum). In Year 2, it increases to 75%, with continued adjustments. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, salary progresses to point 1 of Band 4.
