Job summary

Renfrewshire Council's Planning Service is seeking an Assistant Planner to support the Local Development Plan preparation and delivery. Based at Renfrewshire House, Paisley, you will assist with policy documents, consultations, and monitoring of land use changes.

The role requires a degree in planning or equivalent; RTPI eligibility is desirable. IT skills, including Microsoft Office, and GIS knowledge are expected, with driving licence and travel within Renfrewshire desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree in planning or equivalent discipline.
• Eligibility for RTPI membership is desirable.
• Knowledge of Scottish planning legislation and development planning regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, monitoring, alteration delivery and review of the Local Development Plan and related policy documents.
• Undertake consultation and community engagement on planning policy issues.
• Monitor land use change within Renfrewshire and audit places and land uses.
• Prepare reports and briefings for colleagues and Council Boards; present and analyse spatial data and mapping.
