Job Title: Assistant Planner

Location: Stratford-upon-Avon

The Company:

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a real estate consultancy who are looking for an Assistant Planner to join a dynamic team in Stratford-upon-Avon.

What we're looking for:

  1. Previous planning experience - ideally in the private sector.
  2. Undergraduate qualification - preferably in Town Planning or a related field.
  3. A proactive, detail-oriented professional with a passion for shaping communities and delivering exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Preparing Scopes of Work and initial Briefing Notes for clients.
  2. Liaising with Case Officers, Clients, and Consultants regarding third-party reports and project updates.
  3. Conducting site assessments, analysing development potential, reviewing planning histories, and interpreting policies.
  4. Preparing and submitting planning applications.
  5. Expanding knowledge of Planning Law and Practice through project exposure and collaboration with colleagues.

Key Requirements:

  1. An undergraduate qualification in a relevant field (RTPI-accredited preferred).
  2. A minimum of 12 months planning experience, ideally in the private sector.
  3. IT proficiency.
  4. Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  5. Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  6. A willingness to collaborate, learn new skills, and adapt to change.
  7. Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail.
