The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Package Manager to support the delivery of a major infrastructure project. You will play a key role in coordinating construction activities across structural and building envelope works, working closely with subcontractors and internal teams to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality delivery.
This role is ideal for someone looking to build on early construction experience while gaining exposure to complex, large-scale packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the management of subcontract packages from pre-construction through to delivery
- Assist with planning, short-term programming, and progress tracking
- Coordinate subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
- Monitor site activities, identify risks/issues, and contribute to solutions
- Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation
- Contribute to quality assurance processes, inspections, and issue resolution
- Support logistics planning and material coordination
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience within a construction or infrastructure environment (graduate or early career level considered)
- Exposure to structures and/or building envelope works
- Understanding of construction sequencing and programme management principles
- Awareness of health & safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced site environment
- Competent with digital tools, BIM, and construction management systems
Package Experience (Highly Desirable)
Candidates should have experience working with at least one of the following packages:
- Doors (internal & external systems, ironmongery, fire-rated assemblies)
- Structural Steel (primary and secondary steelwork, connections, erection sequencing)
- MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health services installation and coordination)
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- CSCS card (or working towards)
