Job Description:
An exciting opportunity to join our Restaurant Management team has arisen at Fairmont St. Andrews! As the Assistant Outlet Manager of St. Andrews Bar & Grill, a 2AA Rosette restaurant, you will support the Outlet Manager to ensure the venue is both a preferred dining destination and workplace.
Set upon a spectacular cliff top with stunning panoramic views over two championship golf courses and St Andrews Bay, St Andrews Bar & Grill pride themselves on sourcing local, seasonal produce from surrounding farms and suppliers in Scotland.
What you will be doing:
- Take sole responsibility for the Outlet during the shift, allocating team members their duties and monitoring the smooth running of the outlet.
- Have additional responsibilities within the venue outside of the shift; such as schedules, incentives for sales, training, etc.
- Compile rotas for the department.
- Be responsible for the replenishment and control of charging and stock holding.
- Ensure that the standards of service are adhered to and exceeded on each shift.
- Serve guests in a professional and positive manner.
- Attend to all guest requests, being constantly aware of anticipating guest needs and remain in the Outlet at all times during service.
- Help to ensure the smooth running of all guests' requirements and needs on each table.
- Supervise the provision of all crockery, cutlery, detergents, and kitchenware.
- Ensure that the public areas, kitchen, storage facilities, and other work areas are kept clean and conform to sanitary regulations.
- Attend to complaints concerning food service.
- Work closely with the Golf Team to ensure the smooth running of SABG to the benefit of our customers.
- Support other venues during the absence of the Outlet Managers or during busy meal periods where and if required.
Your experience and skills include:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a leadership position in a fast-paced high-end restaurant required.
- Excellent beverage and wine knowledge is required.
- Previous Point of Sale system experience is required.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly responsible & reliable.
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.

- Working in a fast-paced team environment.
- Shifts will be during the day, evening, and weekend.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining UK work authorisation.
