Grade 8 Full time starting salary is normally in the range £46,735 to £55,755 with potential progression once in post to £62,728
Grade 9 Full time starting salary is normally in the range £57,422 to £66,537 with potential progression once in post to £86,760

As part of our efforts to enhance the professional development and employability of our sport, exercise and rehabilitation sciences students, we would welcome applications from individuals who can evidence involvement in applied sport and exercise science research in sporting organisations or clinical/health settings. Experience in the development and delivery of sport and/or exercise placement and/or internship provisions plus sport and/or exercise industry partners/stakeholder engagement would also be strongly welcomed. We welcome applicants who can clearly articulate how their research and scholarly activity informs and shapes their teaching. In addition, we are keen to attract and support people working at the top of their field and able to demonstrate high quality research outputs and impacts.
You will join a thriving multi-disciplinary academic community, with access to excellent research and teaching facilities. We work closely with sporting organisations and clinical centres of excellence, and have a strong focus on extending our research and impact to the communities we serve. An example of this is our recently launched Centre for Movement and Wellbeing.
Role Summary
The role holder will be based in Edgbaston. The key duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to: giving lectures and seminars and supervising undergraduate / post-graduate students, course development and innovation, taking an active part in examinations, carrying out innovative research and writing papers on topics relevant to the specialist subject area (this will include journals, books and other material), and obtaining research grant funding.
The successful applicant will have a PhD in a relevant specialist subject area, as well as postdoctoral experience. We are looking for candidates who will actively contribute to our portfolio and community, through pursuit of research that will bring new opportunities, synergies, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The successful candidate will also have a track record in teaching at a higher education institution.
