About the role:
As part of the Operations team, you will be responsible for delivering all food and drinks services across the campus. This involves managing a team during high-profile events in retail, hospitality, and restaurant sectors, with a focus on planning, presentation, and service excellence to ensure standards are met and operations evolve technologically and operationally.
Duties:
Operations
- Maintain close contact with venue clients to foster strong working relationships.
- Ensure smooth planning and delivery of first-class food and beverage services.
- Motivate yourself and your team.
- Maintain high standards of quality and presentation.
- Adapt to client and customer needs daily and weekly.
- Display a positive attitude and participate in initiatives like CSR, sustainability, equality, and diversity.
- Support ordering processes, update delivery schedules, and ensure timely orders.
- Oversee non-live setup days, ensuring catering areas are ready and presentable.
- Drive revenue and manage wastage effectively.
- Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Resolve operational issues promptly, demonstrating initiative and urgency.
- Handle customer feedback positively and inform the Operations Manager as needed.
Finance
- Maximize sales opportunities to increase spend per transaction.
- Manage labor scheduling, working with HR to control staffing costs.
- Participate in weekly financial performance meetings.
- Monitor and improve service standards and operational procedures.
- Control operating costs within set targets.
- Ensure compliance with profit protection and security procedures.
People
- Support recruitment, training, and performance management of staff.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Attend regular meetings with line managers to ensure effective communication.
- Build team morale through active communication.
- Train staff in upselling techniques and provide ongoing feedback.
- Assess staff competency and document performance.
Miscellaneous
- Ensure lieu days and holidays are taken as per company policy.
- Act as an ambassador for the company.
- Support wider client initiatives related to catering and community engagement.
Who you are:
- Experienced in high-volume, multi-purpose venues.
- Knowledge of corporate hospitality, banqueting, and retail sectors.
- Adaptable to changing environments.
- Excellent communicator and stakeholder engager.
- Strong administrative and IT skills.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and food safety standards.
Desirable qualifications include NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, experience in customer care environments, and managing contractual terms with clients.
