Help shape the environments where young people learn, develop and succeed

We are seeking an ambitious and proactive Assistant Operations Manager to join our Trust Central Team and play a key role in managing and developing our estate across five academies.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced facilities, estates or premises professional who wants to move beyond single-site responsibilities and contribute to the strategic and operational management of a growing multi-academy trust. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will help ensure our schools remain safe, compliant, well-maintained and fit for the future.

The role combines operational oversight with practical delivery. You will work closely with academy leaders, site teams and contractors to coordinate maintenance programmes, oversee statutory compliance, support improvement projects and help maintain safe, welcoming environments for our pupils and staff.

No two days are the same. One day you could be coordinating contractors and monitoring compliance across multiple sites, the next you could be supporting a refurbishment project, carrying out site inspections or providing practical assistance to a site team. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to make a genuine impact across the Trust.

About You

You will have experience within facilities, estates, premises or operational management and be confident working across a diverse estate. You will have a strong understanding of health and safety and statutory compliance requirements, together with the ability to manage contractors, prioritise workloads and build positive working relationships with colleagues at all levels.

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to balance strategic priorities with a hands-on approach when required. Experience of supervising staff, managing multiple priorities and maintaining accurate records will be important to your success in the role.

Experience within a school, academy or multi-academy trust environment would be advantageous, although we welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills and experience from other sectors.

The role requires regular travel between Trust sites and therefore a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is essential.

About Us

You will work as part of the Trust Central Services Team, a group of professionals using expertise in delivering core services and high-quality support to our academies. We enjoy a purposeful, positive and good-humoured working environment, based in dedicated office space in Wellingborough.

We are an ambitious and values-driven Trust committed to delivering excellent outcomes for our pupils and communities. We believe that great organisations are built by great people and are committed to developing talented professionals, providing opportunities to grow, contribute and make a meaningful impact.

  • Employee wellbeing support

  • Annual employee wellbeing survey

  • Ongoing project to transform our working culture and prevent workplace conflict

  • Flexible working where possible
