Job Overview

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a reputable organisation in Newcastle Under Lyme. Due to internal movement and increased business success, they require an Assistant Operations Manager to join their small team, with 5 direct reports. Reporting to the Operations Manager, daily duties will include:

  • Overseeing all business operations such as quality control, licensing, and health & safety monitoring
  • Line management of 5 staff members across Customer Service, Purchasing, and Warehouse
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement to enhance quality, efficiency, and reduce costs
  • Ensuring effective operational processes to manage and reduce risks across departments
  • Maintaining effective working relationships
  • Providing operational information to relevant parties
  • Preparing reports for management meetings on company performance and compliance
  • Managing staff development, performance, and recruitment, including induction, training, and mentoring

Ideal candidates will have experience with ISO 9001, team management, data analysis, and attention to detail. Leadership skills, contract monitoring with external suppliers, and KPI achievement are essential. Benefits include 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, free onsite parking, and pension. Working hours are either 9am-5pm or 8am-4pm with a 30-minute lunch break.
