Job summary

Titanic Hotel Belfast is seeking an Assistant Night Manager to supervise overnight operations, ensuring guest security and service excellence.

You will oversee night staff, run the night audit, assist with guest check-ins, liaise on luggage, and maintain safety procedures to uphold standards across the property.

You will develop knowledge of local recommendations for guests, participate in training, and be prepared to take on additional duties as needed by your supervisor.

Titanic Hotel Belfast opened its doors for business in September 2017. This luxury 119-bedroom hotel was created in the former headquarters of Harland & Wolff, builders of Titanic, and provides the perfect destination for anyone travelling to the Titanic Quarter on business or for pleasure. The Harland & Wolff Drawing Offices, the earliest parts of these historic buildings, date from the 1880s and, over the following 100 years, played an essential part in the design of many of the world’s most famous ocean liners, the creation of the ‘floating hotel’ and influenced the design of many of today’s cruise ships. Belfast is the birthplace of the Titanic, and this heritage hotel is a sister to our award-winning Titanic Hotel, Liverpool. The hotel has been restored and operated by Harcourt Developments, an international property development company with over 50 years of experience repairing and renovating listed heritage buildings.

Job purpose:

To ensure the daily security of hotel guests and the hotel as a whole, in particular during times of emergency. To provide services for hotel guests overnight. To supervise and aid in the cleaning of the hotel for the beginning of a new operational day.

About the role

Main duties and responsibilities:

• To carry out the minimum of two security checks at regular intervals with special emphasis on security, fire and safety each night
• To run the Night Audit
• To monitor the Front Desk overnight.
• To check in and out hotel guests, and assist with luggage when required
• To serve room service food and liquor to hotel guests in line with company standards
• The preparation of room service breakfast trays and service to the rooms when required
• Maintenance of all control systems and ensure all revenue is correctly charged and monies are securely kept for the payment of services and posting in the POS and PMS as appropriate
• Ensure you have a sound knowledge of the local area regarding history, places of interest and special events and where further information can be obtained
• Actioning of early morning calls at the time specified and to the hotel’s standards
• Cleaning of areas as requested and necessary, removal of all rubbish, trays, crockery and glassware from public areas, bedroom corridors as necessary
• To establish a friendly and helpful attitude to all guests and staff
• To attend all relevant training as and when required
• To show willingness to take on additional responsibilities when necessary
• To have a thorough knowledge of and adherence to the law about the following company regulations
  • Fire regulations and procedures
  • Health and safety regulations
  • First aid procedures
• To ensure that the company dress code is always adhered to
• To undertake special duties or work outside the normal daily/weekly routine but within the overall scope of the position at the request of your Supervisor/Line Manager
