Assistant Merchandiser - Off-Price & Wholesale

Purpose of the role:

As an Assistant Merchandiser, you will play a vital role within our Merchandising teams. You will provide essential support to your department working closely with Buying, Sales, and Logistics to help achieve all stock and budget requirements for the financial year.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategy:
    • Assist the Merchandiser to ensure all account strategies are executed in line with the departmental budget.
    • Support the Merchandiser to communicate information effectively to all levels of the management team.
    • Support the Merchandiser with WSSI and cashflow submissions, ensuring they are executed in line with departmental deadlines and budgets.
    • Assist the Merchandiser in trading meetings with essential business reporting and analysis, updating and maintaining weekly sales and margin trackers, identifying anomalies, and highlighting these to the Merchandiser.
  2. Trade & Planning:
    • Update and maintain weekly sales and margin trackers, identify anomalies, and report to the Merchandiser.
    • Manage intake through daily communication with suppliers to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of correct documentation.
    • Monitor stock intake, ensure timely processing, and provide updates to customer accounts.
    • Provide the warehousing teams with intake updates to ensure efficient stock flow.
    • Assist with stock, sales, WSSI, and cashflow management.
    • Provide weekly supplier payment overviews to the finance team.
    • Produce size-scales, raise purchase orders, and prepare shipping labels and documentation.
    • Maintain system data, including price lists, quantities, and delivery dates.
    • Liaise with logistics and shipping teams to ensure timely delivery.
    • Create customer documentation and upload to relevant systems.
    • Coordinate with sales teams and customers regarding deliveries and queries.
  3. General Skills:
    • Strong Excel skills.
    • Highly numerate.
    • Good presentation skills.
    • Knowledge of critical path and product lifecycle in similar categories.
    • Commercial awareness and interest in fashion retail industry.
    • Ability to work independently and in small teams.
    • Ability to manage heavy workloads and meet deadlines.
  4. Performance Measures:
    • Accuracy of documentation.
    • Timely report completion.
    • Confidence in decision-making.
    • Effective internal and external communication.
    • Ability to work proactively.
