MR PORTER is now seeking a talented Assistant Merchandiser to join the team. Key details include:

Reporting to: Merchandiser

Responsibilities include:

• Assist the Merchandising team to achieve seasonal sales and profit targets based on business plans
• Collaborate with the Buying team to establish merchandise ranges suited to regional customer profiles, making recommendations to maximize sales and profit
• Analyze weekly departmental performance to take trading actions and maximize profits
• Forecast sales and manage department WSSI, reporting to Merchandising
• Coordinate with the MAA on stock intake, ensuring timely deliveries and stock optimization
• Represent the Merchandiser in internal and external trading and planning meetings
• Communicate clearly with your team to ensure alignment on department goals
• Prepare weekly performance reports and insights to inform strategy
• Assist in range planning to ensure a balanced and strategic product mix
• Complete seasonal markdowns to maximize margins while remaining competitive
• Develop team members through coaching and training opportunities
• Monitor and review team performance, including appraisals

Ideal candidate profile:

• Relevant experience in fashion retail merchandising, preferably in the luxury sector
• Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel proficiency
• Commercial awareness and understanding of the market and products
• Ability to build relationships across teams and functions
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy
• Excellent work ethic and multitasking ability
• Strong communication skills
