At JoJo, we’re looking for an Assistant Merchandiser.
You will assist and support the Merchandising team, working closely with your Merchandiser and the Buying department to deliver a strong, commercial range across all channels. Working within a small team, you will manage a fast-paced workload, supporting your Merchandiser with trading and reporting. You will also help train the team’s Merchandising Admin Assistant.
A glimpse into your daily tasks
Planning
- Coordinate with the merchandising team to plan stock flow, commitment, intake, and distribution effectively.
- Assist in seasonal sales planning and re-forecasting, applying lessons learned.
- Support planning for new store openings and review existing store layouts for optimal space utilization.
- Help plan and manage stock distributions to stores.
Analysis
- Analyze historic sales data and trends.
- Generate weekly trading reports, tracking trade against KPIs.
- Manage markdown and promotional planning to minimize markdowns and maximize profitability.
- Prepare data for trading meetings, including departmental reviews.
- Provide regular updates on stock levels, sales, and purchasing, communicating findings clearly.
- Assist in managing the department’s WSSI and other key trading documents.
Trading / Operations
- Identify trading risks and opportunities to optimize performance.
- Respond promptly to store queries, considering broader issues and taking necessary actions.
- Oversee pricing strategies for current and markdown seasons, managing MAAs as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date merchandising hierarchies and style information across systems.
- Coordinate with warehouses and partners to manage stock levels and capacity.
Additional responsibilities
- Support the Merchandiser with daily tasks.
- Participate in store visits, providing insights and recommendations.
- Act as deputy for the Merchandiser when appropriate, representing the team in meetings.
- Work independently, applying your commercial knowledge and experience.
Key skills and qualities
- Experience as an Assistant Merchandiser or Merchandising Admin Assistant.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with excellent English communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with merchandising systems like WSSI.
- Reliable team player capable of managing own workload.
- Ability to build positive relationships and influence others.
- Effective multitasking and prioritization skills.
