Job Description
- Review previous seasons and produce SWOT analysis with supporting information.
- Create category-level product mix using history, SWOT, and SMT plan.
- Formulate space and grading plan for store distribution in collaboration with the Senior Merchandiser.
- Ensure the WSSI is updated with the buy plan and KPIs are signed off.
- Coordinate scheduling and ideals for your area of responsibility.
- Attend key selection meetings with the Senior Merchandiser and Buyer.
- Build the range plan and layout plans in conjunction with buying and VM teams.
- Oversee ratios for all buys in collaboration with the Assistant Merchandiser.
- Ensure that the buy matches the planned buy.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Manage order books seasonally and pre-season for system accuracy.
- Manage stock seasonality within the WSSI.
- Review weekly trading performance and KPIs, identifying issues and actions for weekly meetings.
- Propose and implement actions to recover risks and maximize opportunities.
- Capture actions in monthly forecast reviews and develop forecasts from category/season to Buyer group level.
- Gain approval for forecasts, including sales variance and creation of OTBs.
- Manage commitments such as on-time delivery, rebuys, and cancellations.
- Propose markdowns and manage range and linecard plans.
- Oversee intake at category and line level.
- Visit stores regularly to understand and optimize store performance.
- Manage store stock levels to ensure optimal stock distribution.
The Successful Applicant
- Experience as a Senior Merchandising Assistant, Assistant Merchandiser, or similar role.
- Strong planning, trading, and analytical skills.
- Ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Commercial awareness and interest in product.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Confident, enthusiastic, and eager to learn.
- Highly organized, methodical, and efficient.
