Our Role
To assist the Merchandiser in maximizing sales and profit against agreed Key Performance Indicators, and to manage and develop the Merchandise Admin Assistant for your product category.
What you'll be doing
Planning
- Responsible for planning a specific area under the guidance of the Merchandiser.
- Ensure all spreadsheet work and historical analysis are prepared accurately and on time.
- Prepare analysis packs and strategy recommendations for your specific area.
- Develop new season planning and retail range strategies under guidance.
Trading
- Produce the Monday management pack accurately and on deadline.
- Compile weekly trading priorities for review and sign-off.
- Meet critical path dates, address exceptional issues promptly.
- Manage priorities aligned with commercial needs, maintain communication with suppliers, team, call center, retail, and operations.
- Review performance regularly across channels and recommend actions to maximize sales and profit.
Retail
- Ensure stock levels are appropriate and reviewed regularly.
- Review store sales and strategies routinely.
- Supervise stock builds for new stores, ensuring plans are followed and issues addressed.
Commercial Awareness
- Conduct store visits at least every two months.
- Attend supplier meetings to strengthen relationships and monitor KPIs.
- Generate reports after visits and implement follow-up actions.
- Perform competitor visits and develop action plans based on insights.
- Prioritize critical dates in planning and trading processes.
- Deliver excellent customer service standards.
Merchandising Systems
- Develop proficiency in all Merchandising systems.
- Propose improvements and system updates.
- Perform integrity checks to ensure department efficiency.
- Utilize the Sales Reactive Allocation System to maximize sales and profit.
Management, Training, and Development
- Review and improve processes and controls regularly.
- Focus on personal development and foster good relationships.
- Assist in training and developing MAA’s.
- Manage the MAA daily.
