Job summary

Tesco PLC is seeking an Assistant Merchandising Planner for its Dine Home category in the UK. You will support planning and trading to maximise sales, profit and stock efficiency, working with the Buying team and suppliers to deliver customer-focused product ranges.

Your role involves data-driven analysis, weekly reporting, and collaborating across regions to ensure availability and successful launches. A strong Excel skillset, analytical mindset and interest in retail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide merchandising support to keep the department running efficiently and prepare analyses for your manager.
• Collaborate with the HSC Merchandising team and suppliers to share market and competitor insights.
• Lead order management critical paths, line projections and maintain up-to-date ranging databases.
• Manage intake to ensure product availability and support new launches and events.
• Produce weekly sub class WSSI and line flows to track sales, margin and stock.
• Prepare analyses to help the manager handle risk, stock repeats and markdown opportunities.
• Schedule and implement promotions and markdowns across channels and regions.
• Resolve supply chain/replenishment issues to hit stock and availability targets.
• Support the Merchandising Planning Manager in strategy, history and trend analysis.

As the Assistant Merchandise Planner for Dine, you'll support the planning and trading of the Home category, helping to maximise sales, profit, and stock efficiency. Working in close partnership with the Buying team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of customer-focused product ranges, using data and insight to support key commercial decisions. You will be responsible for

• Providing merchandising support to keep the department running efficiently, preparing analysis for your manager (incl. Monday trade analysis) and collaborating closely with the HSC Merchandising team and suppliers.
• We collate and share market and competitor insight so we can understand what our customers really want.
• We help build balanced ranges for our department that meet sales, stock and profit targets.
• Leading all aspects of order management critical paths, line projections and ensuring ranging databases are up to-date and accurate.
• Handling intake to ensure product availability and support new launches and events.
• Produce weekly sub class WSSI and line flows which helps our merchandise planning managers track sales, margin and stock across regions and channels.
• Prepare analysis which helps your manager to handle risk, suggesting any stock repeats and markdown management opportunities.
• Scheduling and implementing promotions and markdowns across all channels and regions.
• Resolving or calling out supply chain/ replenishment issues, helping the team to hit stock and availability targets.
• Supporting the MPM in preparation for sign off and strategy; analysing history, trends and best and worst.
