We are recruiting for a full-time Assistant Medical Secretary to join the Secretarial Team within the Breast Department, based at York Hospital. You will provide support to the Medical Secretaries and their Consultant Teams.
Excellent administration/secretarial skills and audio-typing experience/qualifications are required, as well as a good understanding of customer relations. You will deal with queries from patients, Consultants, and GPs.
If you are currently employed by the Trust and wish to apply for this role on a secondment basis, please seek permission from your current line manager before applying.
You will be responsible for typing clinical and administrative letters, answering telephone enquiries, dealing with patient queries, covering Medical Secretaries during absences, and participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings.
The successful candidates will have good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise the demands of a busy office and manage their workload effectively.
