Job Description
We are currently seeking an interim Assistant Manufacturing Innovation Technician to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple. This role offers an opportunity to become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.
The position is based in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral, easily accessible by train and car. It is a full-time temporary role for 18 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The compensation is competitive, up to £35,000 per annum, pro-rata, depending on experience.
This role involves working across plant facilities in Port Sunlight, supporting innovation launches and general plant activities. The successful candidate will work on fabric wash liquids, fabric enhancers, and home and hygiene innovations launched in Port Sunlight.
Key Accountabilities
- Generating validation documents for main plant trials and monitored productions.
- Carrying out monitored productions with the innovation launch team.
- Conducting lab testing during trials.
- Supporting plant-related planning activities such as weekly disinfections and batch sizing reviews.
- Reviewing COGIs in the plant and ensuring material stock levels are up to date.
- Supporting the innovation lead with gathering plant data (quality, performance).
- Participating in daily plant meetings and reviewing data.
- Assisting in wider plant projects related to waste reduction and operational efficiency improvements.
Key Requirements
- HND level or above in a relevant discipline such as manufacturing operations, engineering, or laboratory management.
- High numeracy skills and proficiency in IT, especially Excel.
- Self-confident with a positive attitude, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
- Effective team player with good communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to manage and organize own workload, including planning and prioritizing to meet deadlines.
