The Team

KPMG's Infrastructure team in the UK consists of approximately 400 professionals and is recognized as a leading independent adviser in infrastructure. We advise on strategic, financial, regulatory, and commercial issues in infrastructure investments across Transport, Power & Utilities, and Social Infrastructure, both in the UK and internationally. Our work includes market and policy design, economic analysis, deal structuring, and strategic advice to facilitate private and public investments. We collaborate with other KPMG functions on mergers and acquisitions, valuations, tax, accounting, and due diligence.

The utilities sector is a key focus for our Infrastructure Group, serving major UK energy and water companies. We offer strategic and technical advice on corporate finance, regulatory finance, policy, business and financial planning, and other issues impacting value. Our innovative approach has earned recognition from industry stakeholders. Our business is expanding rapidly, and we seek a high-quality candidate to support our Power & Utilities division, with a focus on the water sector.

The Role
  • Join the leading provider of strategic economic consultancy services in the water sector.
  • Contribute to the team's water business while also gaining experience in other sectors, mainly energy networks.
  • Develop expertise in water resource planning (WRMP) advice, understanding the WRMP/drought plan framework and its relation to economic regulation.
  • Build relationships with key clients and advisors across sectors.
  • Work on high-profile projects, such as advising on the Thames Tideway Tunnel's regulatory framework, water companies' business plans, negotiations, and major transactions.
  • Apply structured strategic problem-solving, combining economic principles with creative thinking.
  • Engage in report writing, economic analysis, and client interactions.
The Person
  • Passionate about learning and developing within the sector, committed to delivering quality work.
  • Some knowledge of the economic regulatory framework for water companies.
  • Strong report writing, Excel, and PowerPoint skills; excellent quantitative and writing abilities.
