What you will be doing

Our Assistant Managers play an important role in delivering value for our clients, requiring a foundation of professional experience—whether in consulting, industry, technical fields, or related areas with an interest in capital projects and programmes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting delivery of senior client-facing work within specialist areas, producing high-quality outputs with excellent attention to detail
  • Translating complex themes into simple, understandable presentations and outputs
  • Challenging teams to develop new solutions, leveraging collective strengths for lasting client value
  • Staying updated on developments affecting your work, contributing to thought leadership, and developing KPMG’s opinions in technical areas
  • Identifying business development opportunities and assisting with bids
  • Coaching and mentoring colleagues
  • Living our values as a role model

What you will need to do it

We seek a highly innovative, adaptable individual with experience in collaborating within multidisciplinary technical teams. Skills in translating technical information to non-technical audiences are highly valued.

The role requires agility and determination to solve complex infrastructure challenges, with a collaborative, high-performing team that celebrates failure as part of learning. We value diverse personalities and backgrounds, including financial, engineering, and humanities fields.

Skills we’d love to see / amazing extras:

  • Experience in advisory or delivery roles—consultancy, industry, or technical backgrounds
  • Experience in project, programme, or portfolio management
  • Interest or experience in construction innovation, digital evolution, or sustainability
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including working with numerical data
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Confident communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in software such as Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., APM PMQ/PPQ/ChPP; MoP; MSP; PRINCE2)
