The Technology in M&A team at KPMG is one of the fastest growing and most profitable within Deal Advisory and across the firm. We handle all aspects of technology, including strategy, digital, apps, infrastructure, cloud, operating models, data, cyber, RPA, and post-deal implementation & enhancements, as well as reviewing technology spend.

The Technology in M&A team comprises subject matter experts and is responsible for providing top-tier support to both acquirers and vendors on pre- and post-deal technology issues. Our services include buy-side diligence, sell-side diligence, separations, integrations, IPOs, synergy analysis, JVs, and standing up new businesses, supporting clients throughout the deal lifecycle.

What will you be doing?

The team handles all aspects of technology functions, from strategy to digital, cloud, and technology spend, working with both acquirers and vendors on pre- and post-deal issues.

Our key client proposition areas include:

  • Due diligence: Identifying key risks and opportunities in the target’s technology environment to inform valuation.
  • Integration: Planning and supporting the integration of technology functions and systems post-deal to enhance value.
  • Separation: Assisting vendors in planning and delivering a standalone entity with preserved value and ensured business continuity, including transitional service agreements.

You will deliver projects alongside senior team members, gaining deal environment insights and developing your technological skills. You will also provide insights on technology aspects of deals, explain issues simply, and support the development and implementation of transition plans. Additionally, you will support the Manager on various projects and contribute to team development.

What will you need to do it?

  • 3-6 years’ experience in a strategy house, Big 4, public sector, or industry strategy/development team.
  • Strong understanding of technology value drivers.
  • Experience leading project workstreams and small teams.
  • Involvement in business development and thought leadership.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and stakeholders.
