Base Location: Our base locations are UK wide.

The Technology in M&A team at KPMG is one of the fastest growing and most profitable within Deal Advisory and across the firm. We handle all aspects of technology, including strategy, digital, apps, infrastructure, cloud, operating models, data, cyber, RPA, and post-deal implementation & enhancements, as well as reviewing technology spend.

KPMG is one of the world's largest and most respected consultancies. We've supported the UK through times of war and peace, prosperity and recession, political and regulatory upheaval. We've proudly stood beside the institutions and businesses which make the UK what it is.

The Technology in M&A team consists of subject matter experts and is responsible for providing support to both acquirers and vendors on pre- and post-deal technology issues. Our services include buy-side diligence, sell-side diligence, separations, integrations, IPOs, synergy, JVs, and standing up businesses. We support clients across the deal lifecycle.

Why Join KPMG as a Technology in M&A Manager?

  • Gain hands-on experience with some of the most exciting and largest M&A projects across the UK.
  • Be part of a team with impressive growth plans, aiming for 12-15% growth in the next year.
  • Opportunities to develop your own client propositions and bring new tools/products to the market.
  • Work within a diverse, friendly, and collaborative team culture.

What will you be doing?

The team deals with all aspects of technology functions, including strategy, cloud, digital, and technology spend. We work with both acquirers and vendors on pre- and post-deal technology issues.

Our key client proposition areas are:

  • Due diligence: identifying key risks and opportunities in the target’s technology environment to inform valuation.
  • Integration: planning and supporting the integration of technology functions and systems post-deal to enhance value.
  • Separation: assisting vendors in planning and delivering a standalone entity from Day 1, ensuring business continuity and value preservation, including transitional service agreements.

You will deliver projects alongside senior team members, gaining deal environment insights and developing your technology skills.

You will provide insights on technology aspects relevant to clients and report readers, explaining issues simply and highlighting their impact on business strategy, operations, and deal valuation.

You will advise on technology aspects of integration, separation, and optimization initiatives, including developing target operating models, understanding current technology landscapes, defining transitional service agreements, and supporting implementation.

You will support the Manager on various projects, assist in team development, and contribute to day-to-day project activities.

What will you need to do it?

  • 3-6 years’ experience in a strategy house, Big 4 firm, public sector, or industry strategy/development team.
  • Strong understanding of technology value drivers.
  • Experience leading project workstreams and small teams.
  • Involvement in business development and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.
