Assistant Manager / Tax Manager - Belfast

MCS Group are looking for a Assistant Manager / Tax Manager to join a well established accountancy practice based in Belfast.

The Role:

As the successful Assistant Manager / Tax Manager you will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients, including sole traders, partnerships, companies, and directors.
  • Review tax returns and ensure timely submission to HMRC.
  • Advise on income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, corporation tax, and residency/domicile issues.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and support the Tax Director with tailored advice.
  • Mentor junior staff through technical guidance, work reviews, and feedback.

The Person:

The successful Assistant Manager / Tax Manager will meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant accountancy or tax qualification (ATT, CTA, ACCA, or ACA), or 5+ year's relevant experience in a similar tax role.
  • Solid background in tax across a range of areas.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and reviewing their work.
  • Ability to meet tight reporting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confident in client-facing situations.
