Job Description:
Assistant Restaurant Manager – Authentic Italian Restaurant, Cheltenham

An exciting opportunity has opened up at one of Cheltenham’s most talked-about new openings — a stylish and authentic Italian restaurant offering elevated hospitality in a warm, welcoming setting. Following the huge success of its sister site, this independent venue is gaining strong momentum and now seeks a talented Assistant Restaurant Manager to join the team.

What You’ll Do:

As Assistant Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering a premium guest experience rooted in genuine Italian hospitality. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Overseeing smooth and professional service across lunch and dinner

Managing the booking system, including private dining and corporate events

Supporting the General Manager with team training, development, and morale

Leading by example with warm, knowledgeable, and attentive service

Working closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless service flow

What We’re Looking For:

Experience in a similar front-of-house management or supervisory role

A love for Italian food, culture, and service style

Strong organisational and guest-facing skills

Comfortable managing private hire, special bookings, and guest relationships

Wine knowledge and enthusiasm for food pairings (WSET not required)

A proactive, professional and personable leader who thrives in a busy, dynamic setting

What We Offer:

Tronc on top – 12.5% service charge shared across the team, including managers

45–46 hours/week over 5 days, with 2 days off

Short breaks during shifts – no long or traditional split shifts

Clear pathway to Restaurant Manager and future senior roles

Supportive and tight-knit team culture – no egos, just great hospitality

Growth opportunities – this is the second site, with a third already in planning

Involvement in private events, wine service, and bookings

About the Group:

This growing independent restaurant group is committed to delivering thoughtful, consistent, and elevated hospitality. The original site has earned a strong reputation for smooth service and high-volume covers, regularly hosting 500+ guests over a weekend. The Cheltenham restaurant is following suit, offering the same high standards in a new, vibrant space.
