The KPMG financial services tax team is a fast-growing part of the KPMG tax practice. We are looking for excellent candidates seeking a dynamic and challenging environment within a supportive leadership team.

Due to growth, we have multiple roles across our Financial Services Operational Taxes team, serving clients in banking, custodianship, brokerage, asset management, alternative investments, wealth, hedge funds, and global institutional investors like pension and sovereign wealth funds.

Opportunities include rapid career progression, engaging work involving cutting-edge developments, and collaboration with top FS firms and new entrants. Our team is diverse, collaborative, and embraces hybrid and flexible working models. Members come from backgrounds in professional services, tax, legal, accounting, regulatory sectors, and industry experience, all supported with training and development.

Successful candidates may work across FS and Asset Management tax teams or specialize in operational taxes. We welcome informal discussions to explore these opportunities.

The Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in operational taxes and related areas.
  • Support client relationship management and project delivery, acting as a primary contact within operational taxes.
  • Understand client businesses and coordinate with KPMG teams to identify service opportunities.
  • Develop and advise on innovative client propositions.
  • Participate in business development and proposal activities.
  • Collaborate globally to deliver high-quality operational tax support.
  • Contribute to developing new client solutions, working with technology teams to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Promote KPMG and the operational taxes team to grow the business through high-quality service.

The Person:

  • Deep technical knowledge in tax or financial services, supported by relevant qualifications or substantial practical experience.
  • Practical experience with operational taxes in a financial services context, from industry or professional services.
  • Understanding of financial markets, participants, and products.
  • Knowledge of at least one: Withholding Tax, Transaction Tax, Information Reporting (FATCA, CRS/AEOI), Qualified Intermediary, or International Tax principles.
  • Strong project management, delegation, coaching, and client delivery skills.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and ability to integrate this with tax regulations.
  • Ability to leverage new tax developments into client propositions.
  • Enthusiasm, passion, resilience, and a continuous learning mindset.
