Job Title: Assistant Manager of Visitor Services
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 40 hours per week including weekends and public holidays, as part of a 5-in-7 rota
Salary: £27,976 per annum
Location: Livingston (West Lothian)

We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Manager of Visitor Services to play a vital role in delivering high-quality experiences for every visitor. You’ll support the day-to-day running of our busy site, lead and motivate front-line teams, and help drive income through admissions, retail, and membership.
You’ll champion excellent customer service, ensure smooth operational delivery, and work with colleagues across departments to deliver a safe, accessible, and welcoming environment. You’ll also help shape and deliver events and visitor communications, making sure every touchpoint leaves a lasting impression.
Key Responsibilities
Visitor Experience & Operations
- Lead by example in creating a warm and welcoming environment
- Monitor and improve the visitor journey, responding to feedback
- Oversee admissions and retail operations, manage EPOS, stock and merchandising
- Ensure smooth coordination with catering, events, farm, and estate teams
Team Leadership
- Supervise and support the Visitor Services team with rotas, training, and daily duties
- Uphold high standards in site presentation, accessibility, and health and safety
- Assist with emergency procedures, site checks, and first aid cover
Engagement & Communications
- Grow and support our membership base
- Contribute to social media, newsletters, and event communications
- Help develop seasonal programming and family-friendly events
