AutoSkills (United Kingdom) is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager / Estimator for our Hull accident repair centre. The role combines estimating duties with workshop management, offering a salary of £35,000-£40,000 and a bonus up to 10%.

You will prepare damage assessments, manage authorisations, and supervise workflow alongside panel beaters and technicians to ensure repairs meet required standards and deadlines. This is a full-time, permanent position with progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as Estimator, VDA or Assistant Manager in an accident repair centre.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle damage assessment and repair estimating.
• Experience with Audatex estimating system is advantageous.
• Good understanding of bodyshop operations and repair processes.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities in a busy workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate vehicle damage assessments and repair estimates.
• Assess vehicle damage and identify required work.
• Manage repair authorisations and liaise with insurers and customers.
• Support day-to-day management of the accident repair centre.
• Monitor repair progress, productivity and turnaround times.

The Role

As an Assistant Manager / Estimator, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the accident repair centre, overseeing estimates, supporting workshop operations and helping ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to the required standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing accurate vehicle damage assessments and repair estimates.
• Assessing vehicle damage and identifying the work required.
• Managing repair authorisations and liaising with insurers and customers.
• Supporting the day-to-day management of the accident repair centre.
• Monitoring repair progress, productivity and turnaround times.
• Working closely with Panel Beaters, MET Technicians and Paint Sprayers to maintain workflow.
• Ensuring repairs meet quality standards and agreed deadlines.
• Supporting the team, resolving operational issues and maintaining high customer service standards.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring estimating systems are kept up to date.

About You

• Previous experience as an Estimator, Vehicle Damage Assessor or Assistant Manager within an accident repair centre.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle damage assessment and repair estimating.
• Experience using estimating systems such as Audatex would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of bodyshop operations and repair processes.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and support a busy workshop environment.
• A proactive approach, with a strong focus on quality and customer service.
