A leading company in convenience retailing seeks a Supervisor to enhance store performance and customer engagement. Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years recent experience as a Supervisor in a sales-based environment.
  • Proven experience in stock control and people management.
  • Good knowledge of retail practices including stock take preparation.

Job description

  • Support store performance by helping deliver KPIs, drive sales, and improve profitability.
  • Maintain high store standards through audit compliance, stock take preparation, and product availability.
  • Champion safety and compliance, setting an example in food safety, health & safety, and legal policies.
  • Lead customer service excellence and promote the store through social media to boost engagement and sales.
  • Support team management, including recruitment, training, scheduling, performance reviews, and HR processes.
  • Foster community and colleague engagement, including charity involvement and occasional post office duties.
  • As well as extra discounts on days out, cinema tickets and much more

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Role Criteria

  • At least 2 year’s recent experience in a busy convenience or supermarket at Supervisor level within a sales-based environment with some experience of margin
  • GCSE Maths and English, Grade C or above (or equivalent) and or further education in related discipline
  • Proven experience in the areas of stock control, people skills, cost control, rota planning, HACCP implementation
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Good working knowledge of all fresh food areas
  • Good knowledge of retail stock take preparation and execution
  • Post Office, off licence, forecourt experience

Additional Info:

This role follows a set shift pattern within the store’s operating hours. Flexibility is key – you’ll need to be available forevening and weekend shifts. Reliable travel to and from the store is essential.
