We’re currently supporting a thriving Opticians in the St Albans area that’s on the lookout for an experienced, motivated Assistant Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside an established Practice Manager and play a key role in a high-performing, forward-thinking optical business.

YOU MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 2-YEARS EXPERIENCE WORKING WITHIN OPTICS.

What’s on Offer:

  • Salary between £30,000 – £35,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Full-time role, including Sunday and Thursday (to cover Practice Manager’s days off)

    • 7 testing rooms
    • A loyal and skilled team of 40

Your Role:

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll:

  • Support the Practice Manager in day-to-day operations and team management
  • Lead and motivate staff to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Be actively involved in driving contact lens growth and performance
  • Assist with rota planning, staff development, and performance reviews
  • Play a vital part in maintaining high clinical and commercial standards
  • Take initiative when managing the store on Sundays and Thursdays, ensuring smooth operations

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous optical management experience (Assistant Manager/Team Leader level or above)
  • A passion for team leadership and customer care
  • Confidence in managing performance and coaching team members
  • Someone eager to develop their optical career – with aspirations to grow into more senior roles
  • Strong focus on contact lenses and growing business KPIs
